That was funny - I'm on John's side for most of those arguments, but then I've never tried to get married! The ending was nicely sweet too.

thanks!

I've been involved with a few weddings as my friends get married. There's just so much to be planned and done!

*glee* Very sweet ending! Weddings are totally chaotic to plan, but I'm glad that didn't get in their way too badly. :D Very cute!

yay!
I was concerned about the ending being too sweet, but it really wanted to be there.
weddings are insane. there's just too much stuff that has to be done for the things. I say elope! :)

Aww, this was adorable! I'm reminded of when I saw one of my cousins a few days before she got married, and the first thing she said to me was "Elope." ;)

thank you!
part of what took me too long to write this was that a best friend was getting married and I wanted to make sure I could get it a little closer. And it did change the tone of things for me.
I'm definitely a supporter of the elopement plan. I think my mother would shoot me, but I have auxiliary parents (my friends' parents) who have fully agreed with me.

When said cousin got married (the wedding was a disorganized nightmare), my dad offered me $10,000 to elope if and when the time comes. Alas, my mother would shoot me, as would her sisters, most of my friends, and most of their parents. I have no choice.

I did find out kind of recently, though, about two different married couples among my friends who got married in under three weeks after the proposal. Both had full weddings. If it weren't for the fact that I have family several states away who would need more time than that to get vacation time and come for the wedding, I would totally do that. Sure, it'd be crazy to try to plan a wedding in twelve days, but it's going to be crazy anyway. Why not compact it?

gmail felt that this message deserved a lovely link to "Elope in Napa Valley". Now that I know you can get a whole elopement package, I'm even more of a fan.

wow! three weeks to plan a full real wedding! that's impressive. It sure would make it so that you couldn't procrastinate on planning. So long as you have at least a few things already in mind, it sounds like a good idea to just throw it all together and go. shorter endurance tests are almost always better.
