So. Update on the laptop business: she has been left with the computer help people at the Student Union. I had to sign up for membership with them - £65! Which I. Can't really afford, sob. In my Writing the Self class we've been reading autobiographies and, obviously, these tend to have a metaphor for life used throughout them (e.g. in The Lover, Duras' metaphor for her life is the unusual hat she wore in her early teens - it's something the authors use to build a picture of themselves, something that they can relate to ( Read more... )
