Quick question regarding the fics: What's the rule on crossovers?

Each challenge will have its own set of rules/guidelines that apply. The mod in charge of the challenge will list them all in the challenge announcement post. There will most likely be a crossover challenge at some point though, if that's what you're asking.

I'm signed up now, but I'm nervous. Never done anything like this before.

I do have one question. Does the PoV of your writing have to be from the character of whose team you're on? I mean, if I end up on TeamLestrade, will all my fic have to be from Lestrade's PoV?

Of course not! The teams are there to build camaraderie. They don't have any bearing on how you right your fic.

I would love to join this so darn much but alas I have already committed myself to stargateland and I don't think I could handle another similar style comm at the moment.

Well, thegameison_sh isn't so much a games comm as it's a fic challenge comm, so if you're a writer and want fic-centric Sherlock, this is definitely the place to be! Our challenges are only once a month, as are bonus challenges, so it's not a heavy requirement. On the other hand, I understand if you can't give up that time to participate - it's a shame but don't overload yourself. (stargateland sounds so awesome; I'd be in Team SG-1 myself. :D)

I already know that I won't have the time to actually participate in the games, so I won't waste all the lovely members' time by signing up for a team--but I am interested in what comes of the challenges. Can I join the communit(y/ies) as a lurker and still see what goes down, or will everything be locked up for those who are participating only?

The general community will be open to everyone so that people who aren't participating can still read the entries and vote. In fact, we will be pimping the voting in other comms because we're really hoping that the greatest chunk of the voting pool will come from those who aren't participating. So lurk away! And tell your friends!
