Christianity

I had a detailed conversation with one of my friends over at Oxford as to why I can't fathom Christianity. I think it's an important argument, and for some reason, I feel pressed to write about it tonight.

It all comes down to souls. I can't believe them. How can I have some immaterial substance that influences my material reality? A spirit somehow ( Read more... )

I never really went to church until Bonas, and I like it there. But I know what you mean; all of my friends were confirmed with the same complaints. I felt it sometimes too.

Seems to me like an unfortunate, but common, experience with the Church.

Maybe those who demand an unthinking flock are the majority, or the rule, but that hasn't been my experience.

religious labels are overrated; just because you feel it doesn't mean there's gonna be a religion to match.

Definitely. But, a religion is nice. A community, a sense of belonging, a structure. That's the main thing tying me to Christianity: the people.
