Acceptance

One must accept that all life is full of suffering, the Buddha's first step towards enlightenment. Of all the philosophy and religion I've learned, this seems the most true. It's the most realistic. The grittiest, the most-in-your-face, and the most relevant.

Emerson once said something like "I am never unhappy as long as I can see far enough." Maybe you need to find a quiet place with a long view.

Haha, you may be right. Some mountain summits have wonderful views. I don't think I've ever felt sad atop one (just terrified). Thanks for the comment.
