Hi, Aliya! Thanks for wishing me a happy birthday. When I take my first shot of booze tonight, I will dedicate it to you. And if I ever felt the need to add another daughter to my list, she would be you. I try to avoid the mother thing at all costs… sigh. Now that I’m getting use to receiving advertisements from AARP... darn them! I guess I can start feeling like the older woman who gives out sage advice to those who have yet to travel that path. I am also taking the risk to express my true feelings no matter how mushy I sound!

In that regard, I just want you to know that it is okay to call me mommy--but only you. I really like you Aliya. Whenever I think of you it is always with fondness in my heart. I still hear put those things away every time I look at that picture Lana took of me and then blasted it all over the internet--bad girl--lana this means you.

I hope we meet someday soon.

To my dear sweet Lana, I love you so much and your tribute to me was simply beautiful! It's amazing how far we've journeyed together and in spite of some serious bumps along the road, we've still managed to have a great time... from the very beginning. I do truly thank God for sending you to me. I would not be where I am at this exact moment had it not been for you and your unconditional love and acceptance of me in spite of my many flaws. I couldn't ask for a greater daughter and a better companion. You are my inspiration and my lifeline. God definitely knew what he was doing when he brought us together. Through all my fears and pain, you have always been right beside me, suffering along with me, through thick and thin. And I agree with you, we are at the pinnacle of living our lives as God intended, strong, precious, and free to do whatever it is we choose to do and being very successful at it. 91! dag, i keep forgetting. i swear, we should so crash his party, JUST to fuck with their heads. i still remember that Over The Hill party we gave him when he hit 70... more than 20 damned years ago. *cries* how come it only seemed like he was 40 back then?

yeah, i'm thinking if Gramps is any indication, you're right on par with the whole maturity thing. he didn't get "middle aged" until 70, and he didn't become a "senior citizen" until, what, 85? so. yeah.
