In which I read the third book of a series still in desperate need of a good editor

Finished up Blameless by Gail Carriger today. It was... okay, I guess. It wasn't as good as the second one...I CAN'T BELIEVE I JUST SAID THAT. But there it is. There was a lot more action in this volume than previous volumes, and the secondary characters got a lot more attention... the latter of which is a good development, because Alexia continues ( Read more... )

I have to return the nook at the end of next week so I'm trying to get the most out of the time I have.

Then I'll have to read something that will actually challenge me. Next up after that is probably The Scar which I'm not entirely looking forward to since my feelings on Perdido Street Station were mixed (good writing, good story, but sooooo depressing).

From what I remember of my reaction to Scar, worldbuilding and style - awesome, story - confusing as all fuck, esp. as it's basically three pretty different stories for the price of one; depressing - yeah, still there.
