Someone very clever was talking about torture.

Someone recently was discussing the idea of torture destroying the world for the person being tortured.  When they make decisions under torture they're not being a traitor because the world they are being disloyal to no longer exists for them.

Does anybody know who this was?

It does sound mightily interesting, doesn't it. It is particularly interesting when considering what happened to Dean.
