The big reveal.

Jan 01, 2007 00:57

I'm trying to avoid looking at the reveal on everyone else's DS seekritsanta story because I haven't had a chance to read them all yet! But for those who are interested, I wrote Auld Lang Syne, and I was truly honoured by the lovely comments I received. Thanks very much and for all of you, here's hoping you have a terrific 2007.

I liked this. The background paras were evocative of a life going nowhere, with no joy. I liked the inevitability of it and that Fraser had been waiting patiently, hopefully.

oh my gosh. You know, I keep finding you in all my favourite places, and every time it's like striking gold in my own back yard. And I can't tell you how much I love this story, the gentleness of it, the hopefulness, the vision of a world where it's possible to go back and where, when you get there, you find someone waiting without questions.

I love the tone of this, so straightforward and so much emotional depth there, under the surface. The old couple with their fearful, hopeful faces making Ray humble, Welsh and Frannie and the crowd of kids, the Ducks in the kitchen.

It's just so beautiful, and a wonderful way to start my new year. Thank you!

Wow, thank you so much for those lovely comments! They're much appreciated. I love to revisit dS every now and then, maybe because that hope and gentleness is built into the show, and it's a joy to channel it from time to time.

i got pointed your way by troyswann...and wow. that's an exquisite story. the way you carve ray's voice out of his life and the lens through which he finally sees benton is marvelous.

i love the details of what's happened to everyone else. especially welsh and frannie. and the way ray figures he's pissed off his new boss so he *has* to go. fabulous and very ray.

Thank you very much. It's great fun to write from Ray's perspective, because he has such a marvelous vision of the world, and of Fraser. :)

he does. very sharp and able to turn things around and look at them from remarkable angles. the two of them fit very well together, each in their own way so unique.

and i've been perusing your sight and having great fun reading. :)
