It's tragic when you read through your old WIPs and get really caught up and then suddenly it ends on a cliffhanger and you want to know what happens next but you didn't write any more.
Oh, God, this happens to me all the time. It's not so bad when I know roughly what I mean to come next, but I found this absolutely fascinating start to a story and I have no idea at all what I was planning for it. /o\
I once read advice that every time you finish writing for the day, you should end your writing in the middle of a sentence so you have inspiration when you come back to the story later. Sometimes, though, if you come back to the story years later as opposed to days later you kind of ... have no idea how that sentence could possibly end.
Hahaha! That would be such bad advice for me. Most of my stories languish for years on end. There are files with nothing but a descriptive title and some REALLY FRUSTRATINGLY VAGUE notes. To say nothing of the stories I apparently wrote in fascinating detail and then...stopped.
