25 trips around the sun! That's about... 14.5 trillion miles! And boy are my arms tir... nevermind.
Yesterday was the sort of pre-birthday celebrating in Johnson City. A pad thai (noodles represent longevity!), some fancy exotic truffles and wasabi mustard potato chips from Target, a few cheap video games, I'm easily entertained. Today will probably involve a free birthday lunch at the asian buffet in Asheville, and perhaps a round of minigolf, but the 60 percent chance of rain will probably put a damper on going to the
cool outdoor course. There's an
indoor course I went to last year, but the design is kind of lousy (the ball frequently flew off the green because the walls are so short).
The Toys R Us Buy 2 Get 1 Free sale happens to be this week, and while there's a ton of games I'd love to get, my backlog is kind of ridiculous and I was almost going to pass it up, but FFIII and Rocket Slime on clearance for 20 bucks each were hard to resist. Just what I need, more RPGs! With Picross thrown in the mix, it averaged out to 13 and change for each, an excellent bargain for all! I also downloaded Ninja Gaiden II and Super Mario Bros. The Lost Levels (like paying for a slap to the face!) on the Wii Virtual Console this week, so I'm drowning in games! At least they're cheap.
Not like the wishlist item I hope to pick up closer to Christmas, an Xbox 360. I think the Smash Bros. delay broke something in my brain--or at least pulled the trigger on a gun loaded with dreams of underwater art deco cities and hopping through portals. But all that ain't cheap, especially since I'd like a premium edition, and it has to be new so it's the latest hardware revision... at least when I get one, I can grab Jet Set Radio Future and finally play it after all these years. And Sneak King! That's only 2 bucks!
But I feel selfish wanting a 360, when there are more practical things I could use... a new camera since my old one kind of died, and there could always be some fantastic deal for a laptop or something on Black Friday. Time to get rich!
