LULZ. I always am amused when people make jokes referencing Koyaanisqatsi, just for the sheer "SOMEONE ELSE KNOWS OF THIS" factor (and sheesh, Naqoyquatsi takes it one step further even, granted I've never seen that one - but I did see part of Powaqqatsi), but I watched the trailer, and... uh. I know about it mostly from people like you mentioning it randomly, so when I had Netflix a while back, I made a point of checking out the whole trilogy. I didn't get around to checking out the Koyaanisqatsi-like movies such as Baraka, but eventually I will.

And yeah, the GTAIV trailer is so totally an homage, the joke isn't the similarity, but actually noticing it. ;)

I'm in total agreement about both the k-pop video (which I only saw the first couple of seconds of, but was more amused than thinking that it was a rip-off) and the grammar thing. Geez, people, the world is not going to end if someone doesn't use a serial comma.

Also, it's incredibly amusing that you mentioned the Yu-Gi-Oh! Abridged series. Namely because someone posted a fan soundtrack in honor of it at fst last night. :D

In the grammar nazi's attempt to be correct, he came off as stilted and nearly unreadable. Regardless of technical accuracy, if you haven't developed a readable style, all your grammar rules can't help you.

You might enjoy this essay by Orwell about language use: here

For instance, he parodies modern writing by re-writing, to great effect, a verse from Ecclesiastes.
