I Hate You, Brain

Crap.

So I've always had this lame yearning to write something no one has really done before on FP that I've seen: a non-cliche romance novel told from a male's perspective. I mean, let's face it: the majority of FPers are female, and since I"m the minority here, I kind of feel the need to make myself known. Okay, yeah, you're probably thinking many ( Read more... )

writing, perspective, heiress, romance, inspiration, novel

I've done two novels simultaneously (actually, it's the only way I can get through revisions without wanting to kill myself.) Sometimes it's hard to actually WRITE two at the same time, though. I don't know, I'd say try it and if it gets too difficult, then go back to just doing HEIRESS.

You could just extensively plan the romance novel (I know, lol, extensively plan a romance novel) for now, write down any scenes you think of, but don't do the actual story until you've gotten through with HEIRESS.

It's really completely up to you as the writer :-P

I'll say that if you have the idea, write/type it maybe just outline it while you work on the Heiress. It might be easier that writing two novels at the same time. I've only managed to write shorter stories while working on a novel.
Good luck with writing a romance in the male pov to stand out.
I prefer writing male pov however I don't write romance and I also write multiple third person so I tend to get female pov as well so that doesn't count

Haha, fpers and their cliches. Your story sounds interesting :). Um, I'm nothing short of epic fail at writing two stories simultaneously -- there's a limit to how many characters I can keep in my head without wanting to kill off all of them. But your brain might be different?

Idk. Usually, I work on two or three ideas at the same time ie outlining/plotting idea 3, writing idea 2, and revising idea 1. That sort of a system seems to work for me. Except when I decide to completely rewrite a project... Well, that just screws up my entire system. Sigh.

That last system seems like it'd work really well...you know, like three different parts of your brain. I'm kind of trying that; I've decided to be as patient as I can with it.
