So this is Christmas...

This has been a strange year, to be sure, and today I have been surprised about a lot of different things. One of which was a present that made me feel better than anything I've received in a long time ( Read more... )

You know, it's strange. One of my cousin's friends got his family some similar presents.

Merry Christmas, Laivine!

Happy continuation of the holidays and Happy New Year, laivine!

Heifer International or SaveDarfur or MSF or suchlike (bit leery of the Red Cross after hearing about certain goings-on) sounds like an excellent idea, but I'm not really sure how we'd go about it, what with international payment and things like that. I tried PayPal a few years ago and I didn't really like the experience. Also, I'm not really sure I'd want my name to be visible anywhere.

Found some Michael Sheen links for you yesterday: a fairly long written interview; a video interview on BBC Breakfast about playing Kenneth Williams; and a discussion on BBC News about playing David Frost interviewing Richard Nixon on stage. Maybe I should rent Underworld: Evolution, hmm?

I'd suggest not watching Underworld: Evolution for Michael Sheen. It's basically clips from his performance in the first movie edited in. It's interesting in that I liked the style of the films and liked Selene as far the way she inhabited the world they created, (and my sister also loves Tony Curran), but I don't feel very inclined to revisit it again ( ... )

Ah. Hmm. Though, the cast list seems interesting in U: E, I agree. Have only seen Tony Curran in This Life, have to say.

Glad you liked them; he's just incredible! I almost didn't recognise him in Laws of Attraction and I quite enjoyed a small Irish-Welsh-English film called Dead Long Enough. And, I've got hold of The Four Feathers and Bright Young Things but haven't seen them yet. Thinking about buying the extended version of Kingdom of Heaven; apparently he's got a rather larger part than in the theatrical version.

We'll have to think on it a bit longer, probably. Never sent anything to anyone; had even a chance to get an autograph from Billy Boyd a few years ago, but well... that would've felt odd. And what would I have done with the thing, anyway? Thought he'd have a talk at the small convention not just sit there signing things; wanted to listen to him. Ah well...
