I always have to restrain myself from commenting that they obviously have good taste and are...on an innate level...a good person.

I completely agree. I actually have commented in unrelated places (ie. comments on a friend's journal) when they use a Supernatural icon. I kind of feel like it's my fandom because I've been around since pretty close to the beginning, and it's exciting to see how it's taking off now! I definitely love when people outside of the Supernatural fandom use SN icons. That's a sign of success!
