I think middle school is one of the worst time periods when it comes to school bullying. Kids are so mean at that age! *hugs* I know what you mean about the at the time bullying wasn't given today's importance - it was just 'kid's stuff' and I had to learn to be sociable too...I was always told to just "grow a thinker skin" when I was in middle school and was bullied constantly (it sort of had the opposite effect though: I went super introverted and tried to blend into the background...it wasn't until I was older that I started being more social again). O_O;

And kids are getting worse with each passing generation =/

Yup, ditto, that's what happened to me too. I was always way too introverted as a kid. Bullying definitely did not help (unlike a highly helpful teacher thought, who said I just had to try to be more sociable. Yeah that's what you really feel like doing with someone who mocks you all the time >_>;;)

I definitely think kids get worse with each generation. It's terrible and disturbing-- makes me not want to have kids. Especially with the whole internet thing (wow I sound old, lol). When I was a teenager, the most somebody could do was harass me in AOL instant messages (IF they found out my screen name, and that was easily blocked) or send me an email on AOL (also easily blocked). Thank goodness I went through that terrible time before the advent of Facebook and Myspace and other social networks and what-have-you... I could only imagine what some of the heartless, immoral girls who tormented me every day would have done -___-

It's the Twilight generations I tell you =_=

And oh gosh don't even mention Facebook. Because if you don't have one to be properly harrassed (or blocked by your *adult* friends as if you're back in highschool or something >_>;) then you're *gasp!* antisocial! Yeah, I wonder how people even socialized before that magical site~ It's not like it's, what? Two years old only?

Oh, middle school sucks. For some reason, it just brings the worst of kids!

*hugs you tightly*

Thanks hun~

I think kids are just getting worse and worse lately. We had a case here where several teenagers beat a 13 year old girl while another caught it on film 'for fun' and then...made the dumbest mistake ever of posting it on Facebook >_>; Of course they were caught and the judge was merciless, since from FB comments they didn't show any regret at all saying she 'deserved it' and that they'd 'do it all over again'. Good riddance.

I'm pretty sure bullying's a prevalent problem everywhere, and it's only now that it gets the recognition it deserves. I used to get bullied a lot, as well... all the way through most of primary school and half of secondary school, actually (...so, that would be, um, six, seven years?) and through it all I was told I had to learn to be sociable as well. It's kind of sad how many people dismiss it, really, when it's incredibly hurtful. Telling a victim s/he just has to Deal With It isn't exactly the best policy...

Yeah. What, because someone is shy and more introverted than others, that means they deserved to be 'punished' by it in such a way? Yeah, I don't think so.

I think a lot of people kind of ... look past it? Because it's easier to think that the person being bullied deserved it, although it's not right or fair.
