... I would only have £550,000 which I doubt would be enough to fund my ultimate shopping spree. But if I had a million pounds ( I would buy (for a start anyway) )

All right, the dress is very pretty and if that's hand beading then I can see paying $1400 for it. I like the buttons, too, now that you mention them. I think it gives the dress a focus at the bodice-level, whereas without them the eye would be more on the skirt, you know? The silver waistband is a very slight inverted chevron leading the eye up, just a bit, to the beads, which aren't spectacular in any way but do give the eye something to rest on. Without them your gaze would tend to drift back down to the skirt. It's the sort of minor detail that speaks of a very good designer ( ... )

You've obviously never fell in love with something like that :p They're just beautiful. I couldn't pay it, I can't afford it, but if I could I would. I would probably still feel guilty though for blowing that much money. In reality anything above £55 (unless they're leather knee high boots then about £95) is my shoe limit.

I'm not really a designer gal when it comes to clothes and bags and jewellery etc but shoes, omg shoes - they're my weakness.

No, I'm afraid not. I fall in love with different things which are probably just as inexplicable to others, although they don't get anywhere near that expensive. :P When I was still at Uni and thought I'd actually be having, like, a career, my thing was books -- serious, scholarly tomes. [grin] I remember I was working on a research paper and found this incredible three-volume set on the medieval universities, a real classic on the subject. At the time they were running over a hundred dollars per volume, new. Jim was willing to pay it, but having a talent for finding stuff cheap he got me the whole set used but in perfect condition for like $150. Sure, my university library had copies, but I like having books to hand, you know ( ... )
