When I was in Sydney, the BOM was pretty much accurate for that day for their predictions. Even the day before you knew that what they said was going to be right ( Read more... )

yeah they were right yesterday.. although it did say "a shower or two".. Which was torrential... so erm... Today's shower or two is very different to yesterdays and definitely the day before?!
They were predicting monsoonal yesterday!

'coz they sure as hell didn't predict the torrential downpour that hit just before 4pm, taking me by surprise without an umbrella (ella, ella, eh, eh, eh, eh) completely soaking me!

Also, the English teacher in me can't help but point out that the past participle of "ride" is "ridden", not "rode" :P

I know it's raining now... all stormy and stuff. But surely that would then be "afternoon storms" not "a shower or two" ?

I had ridden, but it just looked wrong so I changed it!

Oh :) We've had stupid crazy weather here too.

Past tense is "rode" as in "I rode", "Ridden" is the past participle, as in "I have ridden". Because of the infinitive "have" which has been contracted in this case ("could've") it calls for past participle rather than past tense :) Incidentally, it ought to be "in to" in this situation because it's about travelling rather than an act of insertion. Ah grammar, if only it had rhyme and reason :)
