nice. i've done that before too - i didnt ask for cash either because i was all paranoid it might be some undercover person that would arrest me for selling it, even at the original sell price. hehe =)
my roommate used to be a "professional scalper" where he worked for a company - they sent several people out to stand in line at different times to get tickets (because i guess the good ones can get released at different times and stuff) and then the company would sell them online.
i think that must be the only way to do it. buy some and sell 'em on ebay or craigslist or something. of course..then i'd just feel kind of evil for overcharging so i probably still wouldnt.
Mostly eBay. There's far more people using eBay who get far too competative. The overwhelming majority of people who use CraigsList are idiots looking for bizarre sex.
I once travelled a hundred miles for a Billy Bragg show at the alst minute to meet a friend on the guest list and two more without tickets. I was going to arrive early so I could see a film or two first, so I had to scrounge for the extra tickets. Bought one outright from a scalper, was given another by a couple of guys who recognized me from working across the street from me, and finally the promoter came out and handed out a few, so I got my last one. All in a cold drizzle. When my frinds showed, tickets were grabbed up eagerly, but no one even asked what I might have spent on 'em. And this is my birthday ...
Years earlier, I ended up with an extra ticket for a Sundays show, sold it to some seemingly desperate kids for what they offered me (ten bucks over face cost, but given "service charges" et al., I wasn't going to feel all too bad about it), then sold it withing hearing distance for ANOTHEr ten bucks ...
Me, i'm not so generous about such things anymore, so good for you ...
