The Kinglet is currently watching "The Cat in the Hat Movie" for the like the tenth time in three days. I have no problem with him watching the same thing over and over because kids do that - I watched "Annie" start to finish to start to finish a million times over when I was his age. (Then again I also watched "The Blue Lagoon" obsessively, ( Read more... )

Wow, that image brings back so many memories! I've only seen the movie once, but it was late night at a sleepover when I was 15. It's not something my parents would have ever approved of, even at that age.

Really glad to hear you're writing again. :)

I also watched "The Blue Lagon" an awful lot, with my mother's assent. Funny that. She thought it was a kid's movie. It's only years later when I saw it again as an adult that I thought... o0

I know, right??

My mom knew though. She had a very open philosophy to sex - a reaction to her own very conservative upbringing. But in all seriousness, I am grateful that she gave me a very relaxed attitude towards sexuality. While I'm not certain I would allow my own six year-old to watch "Blue Lagoon", looking back I can see how it contributed to my (more or less) well-rounded sexual development.

While sitting next to the granola moms.... That is my favorite part. Giggles and giggles from that one. I can just imagine how obscenely evil and goggle worthy that would feel.

The super cheesy version of the Pirates of Penzance from the 80s called the Pirate Movie. The Goonies. The Chipmunk movie with the diamonds in the dolls with the hot air balloon. Top Gun. Dirty Dancing. The 60's version of Rogers&Hammerstien Cinderella, and the 60s era Romeo and Juliet.

Sad part? I have all of those soundtracks on my car MP3 player. ;)

There are definitely worse things that he could be doing. ;)

OMG, I loved the Pirates of Penzance movie. I watched it every time it came on TV. Goonies, too.
I loved Island of the Blue Dolphins. I'm pretty sure I was a Native American girl in another life. Or two.
