I have been inexplicably marathoning the Sailor Moon anime all week. Well, more like binge-watching (seriously, look at my recent history on trakt.tv; it is ridiculous). I will actually probably make a post about this in general later, because what the hell sudden return to my junior high obsessions, but that is not what this post is about

Have you watched the live action Sailor Moon version from last year? I don't know if you're into Toku at all, and I only watched about 15 of them so far, but honestly I found them pretty entertaining, plus i really like the 23-minute format.

I also keep meaning to check out the reboot of the anime which I think must have started already, or maybe not, i can't quite remember how long ago I read about it, just to start right at the beginning of something since I've never really watched the old one.

I love the live action Sailor Moon. It's actually my favorite version of the story, and has been the one I've been focused on for the past while when I got nostalgic for the franchise. I confess it's honestly the only Toku I've seen more than an episode of, though. I keep thinking about checking out others, but my show backlog of 'things I mean to check out' is so long now that it's ridiculous.

The old anime is, I don't know. I was obsessed with it when I was about 14, so the mid-90s, and it honestly has aged rather well. But I think I'm at least partially watching it because of that reboot - right now they're saying it's going to start in the Winter season and it's been so long since I watched the 90s anime that I barely remembered large parts of it. So I wanted it fresher in my mind than 'that show I loved over 15 years ago'.
