There once was a time where he was what is now termed a "moderate Republican". I'm generally a Democrat, but he used to espouse views that I could get behind. That candidate I could vote for. But he's
since backpedaled on many of those statements, pandering to the more extreme conservative voter.

I don't tip someone who scoops ice cream into a cone and hands it to me, or someone who picks a donut off a rack, bags it and hands it to me, either.
I reserve a tip for good service. Hell, even checking on my drinks more than once is "good service" these days.
I like how things are in Australia. You don't tip. Employers pay an acceptable wage, not "$3/hr plus tips, oh and things are slow so you're cut for the rest of the day, g'bye."

In AU & the EU, it's really a different culture. Wages are higher (and so are taxes), meaning that it's less of a norm to tip for service. That's changing, lately, however.
