Wahoo!

If you can't be there in person, I'm guessing you'll need to find someone in your field who can present for you.

YAY! International recognition. No need for Hobology and Hermitology just yet!

(Well, except for study of the early Desert Fathers and Mothers... that Hermitology is okay)

Fantastic!

I'm sorry that you'd been feeling low and I hadn't known, my head being up my own arse. Grad school is a very reductive process, damn it. :(

Making yourself known at conferences is a Truly Excellent Thing to Do, and helps keep off a bunch of the cooties something wonderful.

*love*

It's okay! I haven't really made any noise about it; I've mostly been stewing quietly, as is my way of things. And hey, you've had your own dragons to negotiate with.

I think if it were closer, shorter, or not in the middle of finals, I would go, but all three is sort of a deadly combination. Still, I'm going to talk it over with my advisor and we'll see what transpires from there. And at the very least, this is something I can put on my CV, and I can make myself heard at the regional AAR meeting in March, which has the super benefit of taking place over a weekened at a location no more than an hour's drive from here.

The love, though, is muchly appreciated.
