Hey kids! New layout! New icons! The colours! God, the colours!
This time all from Kagerou by Luka Delaney, a light-hearted romp about mental illness, serial killers, homicidal tendencies, multiple personalities, elder gods, demons, tree-people, and some really messed-up internal logic. It's quite good, and I think you all should go read it. I will say, however, that it gets off to a rocky beginning -- when I started reading it, I hung in mostly because (a) the colours were pretty, (b) the dialogue was catchy, and (c) the whole thing seemed to evidence a sort of self-conscious self-mockery that I appreciate in my fantasy. The art is a bit dicey at the beginning (I don't think I have any icons from chapters earlier than 7 or so), and the story is kind of your basic wacky fantasy plot, so my advice is to hang in until the champion and sacred sword and multiple god-soul-princess issues die down, and the real internal issues start cropping up. To put it another way -- keep reading until you meet Heyoka.
I keep meaning to go buy stuff, but I can't really make PayPal work, and I keep forgetting to mail in a cheque. Perhaps someday I will actually get my act together, since I really want some of those stickers and keychains.
Perhaps I should issue a spoiler warning, but I can't imagine for what; nonetheless, if you're one of those people, uh, read the comic before thinking too hard about my keywords, I guess.
