Maybe all the employees at the insurance carriers will flock down to see the inauguration, too, so I can stay home under a heaping pile of blankets and watch it.
Oh, how I wish (I wouldn't get out of work either way, but not having to talk to an insurance rep would be almost like a day off in itself). Unfortunately, if you mean the medical-flavored kind, sounds like the major ones, Aetna, Anthem, etc are going to be up and running.
What sort of fun do you usually get to have with ins.?
It sounds like you and I have similar jobs! I have to call insurance reps all day about medical related claims. It's a pretty monotonous job, but it pays the bills, I suppose.
Aetna and BCBS were all closed today, so we ended up going home. I think I got through to... Caremark. LOL
What do you do, if you don't mind my asking? I swear BCBS has given me gray hairs...
I'm a medical receptionist. Mercifully, most of what I do is the front end of it-confirmation calls, preauth, inquiries like that. Claims are where the real fun is, no doubt about it. :P You? Sounds like you work for some sort of billing company that handles multiple practices?
BCBS/Anthem… oh, Lord. It really depends which branch. The Federal reps are always super nice, and they're competent, and they don't lie. Haven't had any problems with the main branches of Anthem VA, either. But Minnesota… Virginia's wacky mystery meat plans… the obscure plans that turn out only after six phone calls to be Medicare Advantage… Empire… *headwall*
Yep, it is a billing company that handles many carriers.
And yeah. I never have any trouble with the Federal employees, but good lord. The main BCBS? Urgh. And it's Minnesota that drives me crazy, too! I actually have a whole bunch of calls to make tomorrow and I don't wanna. :(
