Airport security / carryons

It's been years since I've been on a plane & we are flying down to visit my parents later this week. (So excited!!)

Anyway, I needs advice, or at least a word of reassurance. Hubby is refusing to do check-in and wants us to limit ourselves to carry-on. I've researched and researched so I'm reacquainted with all the liquid rules & so on. But one of ( Read more... )

Everything I've heard about TSA screening tells me that there's no easy way to predict what they'll object to. It really does depend on who's doing the scanning and what their mood at the moment is. I would think that it would be okay. But I can't say for sure. What I recommend is that you pack it near the top of the luggage (when the luggage is lying on its side, remember) so that it presents as clear and as complete an image as possible. If they can see it clearly, they'll be less likely to want to inspect it physically.

That's a valid concern. Maybe you can mail it? It won't be the same as giving in person, but it may be a safer, more reliable option.
