I would like to introduce you to Darcelle and Maxwell. It's been a little lonely here at my desk so during lunch today I went to  The Wet Spot and picked them out.

Darcelle, henceforth named since he totally acts like a queen when he fans his fins out whenever my hand goes near the tank.  He's a Crowntail Beta.

Yeah, they're really fun to watch. When I was at the store I couldn't decide between the two, so I bought both. Separate tanks of course. ;)

Wow - they are gorgeous! Especially the white one...I don't think I've ever seen one colored quite like that. Very ghost-like...

The fish store that I go to now has a huge variety of really unique Beta's. They even have ones that are 100% pure white. When I come out to visit eventually I'll bring one to you. (definitely once I'm out of school)

:D

I share your obsession with fish. I used to have a tank as a kid with a handful of colorful fish. I'd love to get a complex tropical aquatic environment going with one of those huge tanks. Maybe one of these days. I keep thinking that I ought to wait until I actually buy a house because a thing like that would be too tricky to move. Sadly with my current goals that's probably still a couple of years off.

It's too bad there aren't any neat aquariums around here. You'd think being on the river and being a big metro that somebody would have thought to do this in PDX by now! ;-)
