a bit dated in terms of current events, but still quite a bit of food for thought there.
what i'd like to see explained is why each side is almost impossible to convince that the other side has a point. i'm guilty of this myself - i can't begin to imagine how anyone with a brain and/or a heart can possibly believe that the daddy-as-stern-but-"loving"-disciplinarian model is anything other than a blueprint for dysfunction. i can't understand why they can't understand that, just because the "traditional" family structure works for them, doesn't mean that it's the only structure that works, or should ever be allowed to work.
