Rainy, cool day. So not typical September weather. My arms and the top of my head are still sunburned, though, which is typical. Again, stupid pale Celtic vampire skin ( Read more... )

I also don't run the dishwasher, washer or dryer when I'm out That's actually a good idea. Friends of mine used to run their dishwasher on Friday evenings as they headed out to their weekend house. One Monday they returned to find that something had gone wrong with the dishwasher (it just kept running) and if the maid, coming in Monday morning, hadn't caught it in time the whole apartment might've burned. Needless to say they replaced the dishwasher but never ran it again if they weren't there.

I finally got over my fear of having lights on when I'm gone. It's weird because I've never had anything catch fire before!

Then you really don't want to hear the story of how we set off the smoke alarm with an incandescent light bulb when we were small, do you? ;^)

I am cracking up laughing as I read this because I just pulled the onion out of my onion ring and my co-workers are laughing at me! I can't stand the texture either, same for tomato and peppers. Also, I cannot leave any of that stuff on either, i'm either home or they do not get turned on. :)
