Sweets is so annoying! And no one ever noticed that he's 23 and WAY too young to have a Ph.D. in psychology...let alone too young to be licensed, too. Unless, he's a genius. I may have missed that part.
I'm thinking that they could chalk it up to PTSD from his time overseas and maybe bring him back (unlikely as that may be) eventually. But, even though it made me cry, I could see it. I've never found Zack to be particularly emotional. He tended to discuss the facts of a case with a detachment that made the others stare at him. I was kind of curious to hear what kind of "logic" the man Zack called "Master" used to convince him what they were doing was okay.
Something that confused me though...Zack said Gorgomon approached him three months ago. Am I wrong in thinking that they've been working on this case longer than that? Would that mean Zack started eating people after they found the silver skeleton?

Also, show creator Hart Hanson says we haven't seen the last of Zack. He also says the writers' strike truncated some of the story line. Maybe it would have made a bit more sense then.
