That's the one thing about Spike - he always adapts no matter what the circumstances. And while Dru certainly never adapted to modern life in certain areas, I can still see her as going on for years and years and years. There's a lot to be said for sheer animal cunning.

I love this. The contrast (both in your fic here and in the series) between Spike and Dru helps make them endlessly fascinating.
