Today I'm wearing a KU top, something I don't usually do at work, but I've worn one every game, so I don't want to jinx it. We
Don't know if you heard, but we here are having some serious basketball issues -- namely, major NCAA sanctions due to basketball staff *ahem* WRITING PAPERS for players so they don't flunk out, among other things. We even made the NY Times front page! (Below the fold but still...)
One thing I always liked about Roy Williams, he really kept the KU players up on their academics as well as their playing. I don't know how it is now, but I do remember that from years past.
Oh believe me I've heard. Syracuse is in big trouble.
My dad knows the guy in charge of keeping our team on the right academic track so, yeah, we're okay, but as for Roy? Google north carolina basketball and academic problems and hooboy. After the NCAA came down so hard on Boeheim Williams has to be sweating it. Systemic problem for about three decades at NC!
Back under Larry Brown it was bad here, too. My dad was approached once to pass a player who was failing. He did NOT do it, but probably some professors did.
Awww. That's too bad -- I guess maybe I wasn't paying as much attention back then so maybe didn't notice. Or I just tend to have rosy memories of the past lol Really I think they ought to just nix the idea of student athletes altogether. Make them semi-pro and pay them properly, it would simplify everything. They can still wear the school's colours and be an obsession for students, but we won't have to maintain the fiction that they're there to get an education.
I have to admit that even though I'd hate to see Hoechlin go, since he is despite the lack of propper writing for his character, one of the best actors on the show, but I love the teeth gnashing and whining coming from the Sterek side on Tumblr.
It feels like they are more upset about the damage to their non-existing ship, than the loss of the character.
