I don't watch any of the music/talent shows but isn't the point to win first place so you can get the record deal or whatever? I was just looking through a recent People and two albums touted were from third place winners in American Idol and the British XFactor. So I guess you just need to make it to the top four or five ( Read more... )

I think that the whole point of participating in things like X-factor or American Idol, is to get into the televised broadcasts. The longer you can stay in the better, but winning isn't actually necessary. The whole point is to get people to remember your name and face, which will then probably get you a record contract, whether you win or not ( ... )

AO3 is just not great yet. Also, I still have issues with their snotty support staff.

Yay for you to actually have some wording on your D/C BB. I'm probably gonna have to jump ship this year, because all I have is an AU concept that I would like to try, but alas, other writing is in the way. It's a shame because it was the first big bang I joined.

I don't think Eric is actually over his love for Sookie. I think he's shutting down again because he opened his heart and got shot down. And he's got a very long history with Nora.

The only way to enjoy True Blood and not have your head explode is to not attempt to fit the show into the books at all. I don't believe there was a single plot point in this episode that came from the books. (Though Charlaine did use the same sibling/sexual dynamic in her books, only it was Bill and Lorena's other child not Eric.)

Still anything that provides me with naked Alex/Eric is a-okay with me. I'll deal with the fallout.
