Kinda off-topic, but can you recommend a good fabric shop in NYC? I am not buying anything fancy, just some jersey, satin and chiffon in monochrome colors.

Ah, I don't remember names for most of them but there's a lot of fabric stores on W. 39th st between 7th and 8th avenues. I buy most of my fabrics around there.

One of my favorites is A & K (257 W. 39th) since they're more organized than some of the other shops. I haven't bought chiffon or jersey often but their satins run about $6/yard. And there's one shop next door to Daytona Trimming (can't remember the name) where I've gotten satins for $5/yard. If you don't find what you need at either of those, you can basically just walk up and down that block and check out other places.

And if you need stretchy fabrics, 38th between 7th and 8th is good for that; Spandex House and a few others that specialize in stretch fabrics are there.
