Beautiful! I like! Thanks for writing.

And I would like to do something about the woeful lack of Alfred/Herbert fics, only my muse hasn't been in a fic-writing mode for a long time. Too much original stuff crowding my brain, I guess.

Can I ask you something, though? Why do you like Lukas Perman? I don't mean in a "how dare anyone like someone I can't stand" way but I'm just honestly puzzled/curious. Because he drives me crazy because as far as I can see, he has no interpretation at all, no sort of character that he's being, he just sings his lines and executes the given directions and is nothing at all in between. I find it worse than actors who have an interpretation I don't like, because at least they have an interpretation. So I'm wondering what someone else can see in him that makes him worth liking, especially someone who likes Alfred. I don't mean to ask this in an offensive way, I just honestly can't figure it out so I'm wondering what sort of character you are seeing there when he seems so bland to me.

Aw... Perman's not so good? :( Unfortunately, I live in Canada and have not yet been able to travel abroad to see one of the productions live. Whatever I've seen so far has been limited to the fan posts on youtube (I know there are trades out there on the internet, but I'm waiting out for a dvd release, as unlikely as that seems at the moment...). I saw the trailers for the Ronacher production and one clip of Pernman sing Fur Sarah, which I thought was a little adorable because he actually looked so hopeful by the end of it... If I ever find more videos, my opinion might change --- but Aris Sas is still my all-time favorite. His facial expressions are priceless. XD

Anywho, thanks for the lovely review, my dear. And I know what you mean about 'the muse'. Mine goes into hibernation when school starts and doesn't stir much until a week + after midterms are over. *sigh* Luckily, I caught a glimpse of Tanz der Vampire just before she returned. :) Go team Alfred! ;P

Well, I haven't seen the Vienna production live either yet - I'm broke and I put my scarce money into the Budapest production because I'm in love with it, while I'm not so into most of the Vienna cast - but I did watch a bootleg that had Lukas Perman plus listen to the cast recording and some audios, and he bored my brains out. Of course "good" is subjective and some people do like him, but I've never figured out why anyone did and based on your stories you have a vision of Alfred that makes sense, so I was wondering what you were seeing in him that made you like him. If you haven't seen a full performance, though, it's probably better not go into it because we're not comparing the same material - if you happen to get a DVD and watch, I'll be curious to know your opinion then. (And not expecting you to share my opinion, of course, I'm just curious to know, if you do like him also when you watch a full version, what your reasons are ( ... )

I think that having seen the whole production with Aris Sas (and Steve Barton; from youtube), my interpretation of the character is tilted more or less entirely in his direction. He's my hero ( ... )

Really, really enjoyed this story. I love how earnest Alfred seems in trying to explain himself to Herbert, and how Herbert at once doesn't understand at all, and understands more than Alfred himself does. Well done!

I love Herbert --- he's just so fascinating! And scary...oh so very scary...

Thanks for the wonderful review, love. I'm glad you enjoyed it. ;)

I like it! I like that your Herbert is so perceptive - he sees and acknowledges Alfred's feelings... and *then* goes ahead anyway. And I like your Alfred, the poor thing.

Also, I like the idea of "indifference" as a potential consent rating. I wonder what it should be called - ind-con? Indubferencon?

I'm a shameless Herbert fan. He's an enigma to me sometimes and I think that's the impression most people (Alfred included) get from him...

Lol --- ind-con. I wonder if I could get away with actually using that as a warning?

in any case, thanks for reviewing. I'm glad it was entertaining. ;D

Considering the size of the audience for English-language Tanz fics, I think everyone would soon get used to what it means! :-D

Well done! I like this story. I very much like your writing style and characterization.

Btw, I read the other comments and your answers. If you are graduating in a year and want to travel then, you will not be able to see the Vienna production of "Tanz der Vampire". "Tanz" will be closing in June 2011 and be replaced by "Sister Act" in September 2011.

Noooooooooo! ...Really?! That makes me so sad... On the other hand, Tanz der Vampire has been done and redone several times over the last decade, so I'm guessing (--hoping, actually--) that they'll maybe do it again in a couple of years? Maybe by another country, even? (Just as long as it doesn't wander its way back to Broadway again, poor fellas, because that was such a disaster...).

In any case, thanks for the lovely feedback (and the heads-up). I'm glad you enjoyed it. ;)

Well, I hope that it's not revived in Vienna for a lot of years. It's getting old. As you said "Tanz" has been done a lot of times in a lot of cities and there are surely a lot of brilliant or at least very good composers and writers out there that would like to get their chance.
To be fair, the Broadway production was nothing like the original. If they did transfer it again they might wanna try to stick to the original...

You're welcome!

I know what you mean---Tanz wouldn't have flopped on Broadway if they would've left it alone beyond translating the script. :( Poor Michael Crawford...he was epic as the Phantom!

Now that's what I call a nice peace of writting! Seriously, it's one of the best fanfics out there. At least when it comes to Herbert/Alfred pairing ( ... )

Thank you, hon! I have such a wonderful time writing Alfred-centric fics, I definitely want to do something a little more. My fetishes don't die easily, you know. ;) (PS: If you do write something Herbert/Alfred, I will definitely want to read it. Just give me a heads up.)

And I know what you mean about searching for English fics online---is it just me or did Google Translate go downhill a little since last year? It used to have some really great translations---now it looks as though it's reading everything off literally from our garbled, English point of view...*unhappy sigh*. Oh well, maybe I should look for to see if anyone wrote something in Ukrainian, but even then my Ukrainian is a little skewed, so that might be difficult...

In any case, thanks for dropping a note. I'm glad you enjoyed the fic! ;D
