You know, I got the idea for that line --Red John inhales deeply, matches Jane for breath. He is touching Jane without touching Jane, occupying the same room, tasting the same air...-- from a mix of watching too much Criminal Minds and experiencing a really creepy nightmare, which detailed a serial killer looming over my bed as I slept. That, and I can definitely imagine Red John as having a major god-complex, being someone who's obsessed with the idea that the universe is in harmony with him and no one else.

...And really, Red John is just plain scary. Nobody tops his act. *shivers*

Oh, I am SO excited to see that you are writing this!! Delirium was fantastic. Incredibly creepy, but fantastic. It definitely left me wanting more. And now this. It's just too good to be true! You write RJ and his warped obsession with Jane so well. I can't wait for the next part. It IS coming very soon, right?

I like the moment where he inspects the syringe, it’s very lyrical. And then when He taps the glass gently to expel any remnants of air Because God forbid he harm Jane accidentally *shudders*

And I really like to the world outside this world I think that captures John’s particular brand of crazy very nicely.

Aw, hon---you're the master! I long for the day when I get to read another one of your Red John fics because, really, no one does the characters justice quite like you.

In any case, I'm glad you liked the snippet. I think I've become as obsessed over how Red John ticks as John is with what it would take to break Patrick Jane. Seriously, it can't be healthy...
