LOL I know. I aimed for 2k a day and 5k at weekend so finished pretty much on track.
As for what I wrote about, well it's kind of difficult to summarize. Basically I'm thinking of it as Brave New World meets Annie. It's set in a future earth where where there is technology that allows you to experience other people minds. Its shown that being linked to a baby gives a somewhat euphoric (psychedelic) experience.
That is the background of the world but my Nano follows the story of Jescha who is a child of the technology and follows what her life is like and some of the secrets of her past and the implications of those secrets on the people around her.
I really didn't have much of an outline when I started but found this kind of helped as I could write what I wanted an not worry about the plot.
Wow, that sounds incredibly cool. And I'm so SO impressed at anyone who does nano!!!
yeah, personally I've come to the realization that I really can't "outline" ahead of time, as I find the story as I go. I mean, I can get a sweeping broad sense of it -- this character meets this person and undergoes this challenge and they wind up here -- but other than that I can't really outline much in advance. As I go along eventually then I can block out the remaining scenes needed, but only once I'm quite far into it.
You should post a snippet from it if you feel like it. <3
Usually I would do a basic sketch of anything I'm writing but this time I really only had a few main points I knew about and no ending whatsoever. LOL. I was actually itching to outline an Xmen story that won't leave me alone for the last two weeks so I'm looking forward to working on that once I'm over nano.
As for posting an excerpt... maaaayyybeeee. But I haven't even read over it yet so I'm gonna have to edit heavily before it goes anywhere.
Might just do an flock post of a section if I do post any of it.
