So, in an attempt to move forward with the whole earning money thing, I hooked up with my friend and fellow LMT, Elaine, whom I met at Dragonfly Massage in 2009.

We are renting a massage room at a salon in Westport Plaza and we are the only massage therapists right in Westport Plaza, so we should rock this to no end.
( Much blatherings! Best left behind the cut here! :-p )

If you're as close as Westport, I may just have to bring myself to you, give you a try.

I don't have the webpage up and running just yet... I can send you the PDF files of our brochures & specials. :)

One of the people I had to cancel on today was the gal I'm going to trade with to do the webpage... (I had gone all winter without a cold - only to get one as soon as the weather turned nice! :( )

It's pretty much - $10 for 15 minute chair massage, $45/hour Swedish, $55/hour hot stone - with either a receipt or a paycheck stub from a Westport business.

are you taking your show on the road?? My therapist in Sac worked out of her studio at home, but she also went to upscale hotels.....
Donna was sooooooooooooooo good
Wish she was here in Portland, but I did try Sally of 'have table will travel'
fame..........she goes to homes and to upscale hotels

The thing with Westport Plaza is that we're anchored by the Sheraton - they have the Chalet which is literally right next door to us (go out the door of the salon & go left & it's just across the sidewalk) and the tower is across the plaza. Those are two of the hotels. The Doubletree also runs a shuttle between the Sheraton & their property, so that will help to bring in foot traffic as well.

I really don't want to be packing up and hauling my table to kingdom come just yet - I need to get a dolley or something similar to strap my table to so I don't wrench my back carrying it. (I'm a short person - barely 5'4" in my sneakers & the table is an unwieldy, bulky thing to carry when you're short! :-p)

YES I totally agree. Just curious.........
I remember the wonderful and deep massages I had every Friday at
Donna's home. I also remember how sharp her elbows seemed!!!
Especially given what a tiny woman she was
I am 5'8" and she was barely 5'
It was why I wondered about how she managed to pack it all and haul it
to one of the big hotels in downtown Sacramento
I also questioned if it was safe, but she assured me when she arrived she
checked in at reception and told them how long she would be......
She also told me hilarious stories about calls she received inquiring about
'massage'
Unfortunately in Sacramento they did not differentiate in yellow pages therapeutic, which is what she did, and 'recreational'
She also told me she was very very careful in giving just anyone her home address when they called. I remember our long discussion on the phone about what I needed. I have some rheumatic issues and massage was very helpful.

Oh yeah.... I've gotten some weird calls from folks in the past when I tried to advertise on Craigslist. I have had guys say, "Well, I'm looking for a more enlightening experience..."

Or, one creep flat out asked me, "Do you do happy endings?"

So, I'm doing straight word of mouth advertising right now and being cautious on which clients I accept because being groped once equals shame on him. Twice? Shame on me.
