I really--Tim and Jason are so very, purposefully different, and that's one of the big things that separates them in my head, as Robins and--in this--as bitter ex-Robins.

Really, the Jade Canary was one of the funnier ideas thought up by DC for OYL. Of course, Shiva in the fishnets was unbeatably funny . . .

Robin and Tim are Gotham's, but whoever Tim has become by the end of this fic . . . I don't think he's either of those people, and that negates Gotham's hold on him. Which might be one of the freakist parts of this, IMHO.

And I'd love to see an essay like that from you. I totally agree. I've been sitting here for a while trying to put together a useful, meta-y answer, but my head hurts, so I'm just gonna say WORD.

DC's given anyone who wants to break Tim a lot of fodder to work with--nothing has to change from IC, even, just that Dick and Bruce didn't manage to reach Tim before everything broke him. And he's already been Shiva's student once--from all accounts, she'd probably welcome him back with open arms.

. . . in case you were interested, it's entirely your fault that Slade's in here. I'd never really thought about him, but I was devouring your and Ilyena's fics when this one happened, and suddenly he was there. It's a good thing, it was just a little surprising.

It was the scarily plausible that made me write it. I'm still seething over everything they took away from Tim in the last few years.

Oh, Jason/Tim. The utterly canon-impossible pairing. Much of my love of them interacting comes from Te, but I think I'd enjoy them together even if I hadn't read Te's fic. Though outwardly they're very different, I think their subtle similarities are what make them work.
