Give me a character and I will answer: * why I like them * why I don’t * favorite scene/moment * brotp * totally random but possibly awesome non-canon ship * head canon * unpopular opinion
Good choice! I don't appear to have any Zoe icons right now, so have Mal instead?
* why I like them Because she is tough and good at what she does and doesn't take crap from anyone. And she rocks at deadpan sarcasm--she and Mal are HILARIOUS together.
* why I don’t This question confuses me, because I do....
* favorite scene/moment I really like the part at the end of "War Stories" when she and Mal try to pretend they have chemistry and she says, in the most dull voice possible, "Take me, sir."
* brotp Zoe + Mal, obvs :P
* totally random but possibly awesome non-canon ship I dunno, I'm pretty happy with Zoe/Wash. Nothing shippy comes to mind, but I am now picturing wonderful crossover crack friendships with either Martha Jones from Doctor Who or Doctor Crusher from TNG. :D
* head canon I bet she and Wash spend more time satirizing the affairs of the ship than she would ever admit. (Like the time she was in charge and they joked about how Jayne would kill her and take command.)
:O Rory/Molly!! I've never thought of that, but now definitely ship it. Even though Rory/Amy are my ultimate OTP, I ship Amy/Sherlock as well (tumblr made me do it!)
Amy/Eleven has a lot of appeal just because they have a really good...idk, portrayal of their relationship? Like, Karen Gillan and Matt Smith are hilarious together off screen, so I guess it kind of carries over?
I wasn't too bothered by dropping the Ponds off- but it was a lot of other factors that led to it/occurred after that made it me have issues with it. Especially given how we The God Complex/The Girl Who Waited set up a perfect arc to actually have the Ponds leave on their own volition, but it never gets mentioned or brought up again =/
I can definitely see the appeal. :D I'm just generally a canon shipper, and when you give me as nice a canon ship as Amy/Rory, I will run with it. I have also been known to read Amy/Rory/Eleven fic. :P
I think there is some fanon that they'd been talking about it either before that or because of it. That would have been a more natural ending, but oh goodness I don't know if I'd ever have stopped crying. That would have been such an upsetting thing to end on. I was sad when they left, but I just wanted them to have a friendly goodbye, so I was okay with it.
Aw, thanks. And Oh goodness, I share much of your sentiment, but River/Doctor in fic is like, the only het pairing I care about. Seriously! I am NOT a babyfic person at all... AT ALL... unless said fic is River/Doctor babyfic. Then I turn into a shmoopy mess. One of these days I'm going to write up a whole universe based on River/Doctor mpreg, you know.
You might like EasyThereTyger's "Pack Up the Moon and Dismantle the Sun." It's still a WIP but worth reading; it's a poignant take on River's character from later on, as she earns her pardon from the Church.
academic fanfiction, LOL! Yes, yes, I could see her doing this.
I think I have seen that one but not read it. I don't usually read long WIPs because I am impatient and have a short attention span. (But I can read regular-size books, go figure....)
Haha she probably did it to antagonize her advisor, too. Left it lying around in offices/libraries/other embarrassing places on purpose.
