If it is what I think it is, I think Moffat is trolling everyone. There were a bunch of fake scenes written and extra scenes filmed. So don't worry about it.
Ugh I am trying so hard to avoid spoilers on who River really is, because I generally love to spoil myself and I kind of want to be surprised about this. But at the same time, if it's something that's going to make me angry, I'd rather know now so I can get over it by the time the episode airs.

Yeah, I think I'm with owlsie. I didn't read the whole page, but something about that seems almost laughably bad or like a sudden, strange, trippy alternate universe scene.
Yeah. Remember Moffat is the guy that hid the endings from everyone except team TARDIS, made them shred the scripts, made the directors film stuff they didn't understand, etc. For River's identity to get out THAT easily just seems silly.
I skimmed that spoiler a while back and am hoping it's not true. But if it is, I'm hoping Moff does something interesting with it. It's been my speculation for a while that River is some kind of weapon that brings about the Doctor's great fall; given what we've seen in the trailer and the previews that seems to ken with what is being suggested about the little girl. If it's the case, we'll see what Moff does with it. But things may not be as they seem.
Also wondering about the pterodactyls and other strange things... makes me wonder if it's not (a) a hallucination inside someone's head or (b) a bubble universe of some kind that is brought about by juuuuust a little too much time meddling from the Doctor.

Yeah, it seems like a big letdown, which is why I'm hoping you guys are right.

Anyway, I don't particularly trust an episode that apparently also has pterodactyls, Churchill, and Romans in a modern day environment.
If it's true, though -- unexpected twist is unexpected!

The pterodactyls can stay, yes. Also the Romans.
