Software dilemma

Geoff and I have hit a disagreement. For our word-processing needs, we're currently using Open Office. We don't do a whole lot with it at home; mostly SCA stuff, like writing Ithra handouts which have bunches of pictures in them. I'm fully willing to be Microsoft's bitch for $100 because I have NOT found free "alternatives" to come close to the real deal. I like Word, I like Excel and they are worth the money for me.
