Interesting. I've got a similar review (but more strictly formatted) over at my journal. However it's half-negative and half-positive.

But I did have problems with the fact that the story never followed up on the mess that Peter had created between Gwen and Mary Jane.

How funny - the fic I just started is going to deal with this quite a bit. :D

Unfortunately, the writers never revealed what argument that Harry had used to coerce Mary Jane. Instead, they left the audience in the dark.

This is explained in the novelization - there are SO many things like that, really.

As for her singing voice, I got the impression that it had been dubbed during MJ’s Broadway performance. But I could detect Dunst’s voice, when Mary Jane sang at a jazz club during the movie’s final scene. She had a nice, but slightly nasal voice.

It was her voice both times! But they usually have to dub even the real voices, because of sound quality issues. (Have the actors record in the studio, and then lip sync the scene). So that's probably why it seemed that way.

Thanks for pointing me over here. I enjoy reading other people's views. :)

”With great power comes great responsibility.”

It was never because he was bitten by the spider but because of the guilt he felt for not stopping the thief that later killed his Uncle Ben. It was after that he took on the motto, ”With great power comes great responsibility.” That guilt is something he lives with even to this day both in the comics and in the films.

I should also mention that in the comics he felt guilty for Gwen's father's death, Gwen's death, Norman's and Harry's deaths, and just about every one that was close to him and died he felt gulty. Why? Because of his powers. He has always felt that his world would have been different if he had never gotten his powers. I disagree because although he wouldn't have his powers thoas people could have still died. And odds are he would have still felt guilty.

I don't think that guilt is a very healthy reason to become a costumed superhero. In the end, it only taints that person's reasoning for helping others. I would be much happier if Peter was inclined to help others because he wanted to . . .or if someone's situation had appealed to his heart. But guilt? No. It's understandable why he was motivated by guilt. But I don't think it's a good idea that it's basically his reason for continuing as a crime fighter.
