I have a pretty similar list for both categories, with most of the same movies appearing in each though in a slightly different order. The differences between the rankings are pretty minimal for me.
Favorites: 1. On Her Majesty's Secret Service / Casino Royale / The Living Daylights - I seriously can't pick an absolute favorite 2. From Russia With Love 3. For Your Eyes Only 4. Thunderball 5. Octopussy 6. Licence to Kill
Least Favorites: 1. A View To A Kill 2. Tomorrow Never Dies 3. Die Another Day 4. The Man With the Golden Gun 5. Goldfinger
By the way, I was watching my CASINO ROYALE Special Features disk and came across the Maryam D'Abo documentary, "Bond Girls Are Forever". While watching D'Abo's interview with Maud Adams, I noticed that the Swedish actress seemed to have a negative opinion of her roles in the Bond films. Now, I can see why she would have this feeling about her Andrea Anders role in TMWTGG, who was more or less a victim. But she seemed to have this idea about her other role, Octopussy, as well . . . because of a kissing scene between her and Roger Moore. Apparently, she could not fathom the fact that Octopussy was more of a positive role, despite the character's name.
Listening to her, I get the feeling that she sometimes came across as a bit of a Miss Doom-n-Gloom. I don't know. Perhaps I'm reading too much into it.
I find there are different reasons for the various Bond films I enjoy. It's like they hit different parts of my brain. I love "Goldeneye" and "Casino Royale" as well as "Goldfinger" and for some reason "A View To A Kill." I see why most consider "View" bad, but I must have been at just the right age the first time i saw it to have it get stuck in "movies I really enjoy" mode. I was 15 when I first saw it in the theatre, and heve been a big Christopher Walken fan ever since. Goldfinger for me is fun because of the look and feel of the film, from the dark colors of the opening scene to the bright Miami sky as we get into the meat of the film. I also love how Bond smacks Dink's butt. It's so cute. Honor Blackman is fantastic, and Connery seems to really embrace the role, the clothes and THE CAR. I love your review though, becuase there are very similar things I've noticed. Magic Penis...many times I've wished mine was one of those. LOL. Keep up the excellent reviews.

I am more than delighted to discover I'm not the only one who's observed the fallacies that you've so elegantly pointed out.

That scene made my skin crawl. The barn scene pissed me off.
