Disclaimer: I LOVE Xander, absolutly to pieces, but i've always thought that they made him un-characteristically angry in regards to Angel. I know and can understand that he's meant to be jealous of Angel, but the thing that buggs me is how angry he gets about Jenny's death. It never sat well with me that he would behave like he does.

Why on earth does he get so worked up about Jenny? I know he cared about her, they all did, but you think that if anyone was going to play the role of wanting revenge for her death, or to be anywhere neat that pissed off, shouldn't it be Giles?

... that's just a little something I've thought about a few times

That pettiness continued after high school, as I recall.

But my main problem with Buffy's relationship with the Scoobies is that they tend to put her on a pedestal and demand that she adhere to a certain behavior; and Buffy allows them to do this to her, due to her fear of losing their friendship.

Huh, I never thought of any of that. It looks like I'll be watching at least some of the series over again soon, and it'll be interesting to see what I make of their relationships in light of this.

i agree that xander was self rightious and very jealous of Angel being with Buffy. i did wish they moved his character away from that jealousy byt he end of season 5. and that is the same way with giles.

if you read the comics. giles and buffy relationship has not been good. Giles is helping faith while Buffy and giles are not on speaking terms. i couldn't believe they did that. i expected them to get closer as as a father and daughter relationship but i guess not. they kind of ruined alot of things about the show i guess.

I feel that relationship was tainted from the beginning, thanks to Giles' role as her Watcher ( ... )

it has been awhile since i watched some of the episodes. i forgot that episode. ya you are right that it good that they had buffy cast the spell to have more then just one that was chosen to fight demons.

ya to bad the creators and producers did not think of that. they could at least not made him a liyer. they could of made him form a trust worthy relationship with buffy but i guess not.

he was a butt in the sense he was to forgiving. He told Buffy that she wasn't treating Riley the same as she did Angel. THis was after the vamp sucking, but in Xander's defense he didn't know that Riley had basically left Buffy with an ultimatim before he left.
