And so close on the heels of the Billy-who-drowned-in-an-undertow story. The writers have really decided to lay on the backstory for Danno these past few episodes.
I must admit, all the extra feels? I'm loving it. Even when it hurts.
Oh my god, seriously, it's been insane. I think the writers are finally realizing just how brilliant Scott Caan can be when he has a part he can really dig into. This past episode, and the episode where Danny's training officer kidnaps Grace just slayed me. Boy can act.
Oh my god, speaking of feels, have you ever seen Mercy? Because I was expecting it to be so-so and I didn't really get the movie while I was watching it, but the ending had me sobbing (which is damned hard to do, let me tell you) and it tied everything together so that you realized just how insanely tight and brilliant it really is. And then I found out Scott had written it, and now I just really want to chill with him and talk about the form of a story matching the function for a few hours.
I have not seen Mercy, yet, no. I'll put it on my to-watch list for the weekend! <3
There was a fic I read, once, nearly a year ago, I think. Danny'd gotten a tattoo at some point in his life, with delicate words inked out directly over his heart. "Through many dangers, toils, and snares, I have already come." The next two lines of the song aren't part of the tattoo, but they still resonate with the reader and even more so now that we know about his previous partner.
They TOTALLY DID AND IT WAS THE WORST THING EVER BECAUSE WHEN PEOPLE LET SCOTT CAAN ACTUALLY ACT HE USUALLY ENDS UP MAKING ME CRY.
I literally started watching H5-0 because of the fic. I just caught up with the season, although I haven't watched the latest episode (I think). It started out pretty good, and then it kinda did that second-to-third season drop? But totally worth it to see Danny call Steve "babe".
I would be the complete opposite of opposed to them just randomly making out in the Camaro every once in a while. And not like a frenzied, we-can't-keep-it-in-our-pants kind of make-out, the I-could-do-this-all-day kind. GUH. I don't even want, like, fireworks with those two. I just want a moment every once in a while where they're like, "uh, yeah, we're together." That is seriously my dream canon for the show. Nothing really changes, just more making out and some fights while they figure out how to make the transition of working with a romantic partner
