Love Tony's attempts to get Steve introduced to pop-culture. Pepper is flawless and fantastic and I like the idea of her and Tony working together in the lab while Steve twiddles his thumbs upstairs because he's not technical just because it's such a lovely switch on the girlfriend sitting around because she doesn't understand machines while the two guy friends work on it.
Ugh, LJ didn't reply to this. I had one written out. *headdesk*
1. I think I have a thing for couples where one member is clueless about pop-culture. It's adorable to have the other teach him.
2. I love Pepper. She reminds me of Donna in Suits and they're both goddesses. Without them, how can Tony and Harvey survive? No doubt Pepper can help Tony with his tech. He should only worry that she might out-BAMF him. XD
Oh, Tony, you are so lucky you have your own man of steel to save you when your ambition exceeds your caution.
I'm starting to understand there's a pervasive sense of inequality between Steve and Tony in fics. Tony lives larger than life to guard his loneliness with Pepper as his only confidante, and Steve struggles to understand how and when he'll fit perfectly at Tony's side. Because, for some reason, they love each other. Sweetness and snark. Rogers and Stark. ;)
I really like it, but I think I'm missing a lot running from knowledge only of the movies.
They're very Batman/Superman-esque, aren't they? Yet completely different, too, except in the most basic sense. It's a neat contrast. :D
I'm glad you noticed so much. I was trying to convey that Tony is, beneath all the billionaire swagger, very lonely and self-deprecating, so Steve has to be especially earnest in his pursuit. Thank God sweet Steve doesn't mind the snark and often barrels through it. You should take a look at some resources provided by cap_ironman. They can say better than I why these two are an iconic couple, why they love each other.
...Although, I have to hope I didn't do something wrong, because other than those aforementioned sources and some light research, I was also operating in movie 'verse. I've never read the comics - only about them, so I hope you weren't too lost, love. I'm glad you enjoyed it. ♥
Oh, this was so awesome, I absolutely loved it from start to finish! :D I think my favorite moment was when Tony explained why he didn't invite Steve down to the lab--although I suspect Steve wouldn't have been bored at all by getting to see Tony work ♥♥
Thank you so much for posting this, it's going straight into my bookmarks! ♥ And if this fabulous fic is you feeling your way around Steve/Tony (pun totally intended), I'd love to read more of it!! :D
Oh my goodness, thank you so much. This just made my whole day. I'm so, so relieved you found it in character. That's one of my biggest fears when writing in this fandom, because everyone is so iconic and have so much history, but it's fun. I'll definitely write more. Thank you again. ♥
And, yeah, Tony is secretly self-conscious if he thinks Steve won't want to watch him work. I loved doing so in the movies. XD

Thank you so much, bb. It's SUCH a relief to hear I haven't butchered Steve and Tony's characterization (yet). XD
