The line is from the song "Bad Company" by the band "Bad Company."

"Chose a gun and threw away the sun" is a line.

Yup, that's the Colt in Sam's bag. If John had kept Dean a little more in the loop he'd have recognized it.

Dean does remember--eventually.

I found the song very early in the writing process on this one, and it totally fit things together for me. So yeah. Awesome song.

You should very much enjoy the next two chapters. I think.
