Just rereading the prequel trilogy novelizations. On Revenge of the Sith, and while I love Stover dearly, I swear, if the Jedi Council keep acting like assholes, I swear by Darth Revan himself that I'll sic Jason Vorhees on their asses.

(Jason Vorhees -- protecting the galaxy from assholes since...well, day one. ;-)

Then again, it may be a testament ( Read more... )

Now, I do not truly dislike any of the Jedi Council (I can't NOT love Yoda, Mace is pretty much made of awesome, and for the rest, well...I still sympathize with them), but I too have some serious issues with late-Old Republic Jedi philosophy.

Fair enough. :)

I think it was just the really snide way that Yoda treated Anakin that pissed me off (and to be fair, we *are* seeing it from Anakin's POV, so for all we know Yoda may actually be on Anakin's side. Or at least he wants to look out for Anakin...*shrugs*). It's kind of the problem with identifying a lot with a character -- you kind of go Mama Bear for them.

And I agree with you regarding Mace. And Yoda -- at least at times (the scene in ESB where he basically squabbles with R2 over Luke's stuff = XD). And it really did suck when Palpatine killed them off. But yeah...let's say the Jedi Code's...pretty shaky to say the least. :/

I know what you mean with that, definitely: I've had characters I dislike due to how they treat characters I like.

The "Mine, mine, mine! *whacks R2 with a stick*" scene is one of my favourite moments in all of Star Wars.

*Is curious* :)

Considering it's Yoda we're talking about, it's just hilarious for him to be playing tug-of-war with Artoo like a little kid. :3

but most of the time, the character kind of alternated between droning, mechanical delivery and getting all screechy howler monkey whenever he got pissy.

You're kidding, right? 0.õ
