It's sad that some women today don't understand what feminism is. What makes it so bad is when they speak about it, they take the stance that they speak for all women.

Cad Bane is amazed. Maybe we should make a Millenium Falcon for Barbie and make it one of those little ovens to cook cakes in.

God yes. That's what pisses me off the most. Well, one of those things that pisses me off the most. It's this whole idea that they know what's best for all women, never mind that there are many kinds of women. Asexual, homosexual, bisexual, pansexual, transgender, women of color, etc. Not to mention that women all have individual tastes. So acting like "this applies to all women everywhere" is really ridiculous. And yeah, some of the misinterpretations of feminism can get really, really gross, such as people on TV Tropes going after someone who gave up her opera career to raise a family. I mean, seriously, raising a family is actually pretty hard work, really. That and the whole thing about "you shouldn't criticize 'You Go Girl' plots because guys always have people telling them they can do it and girls don't..." Which, no. I mean, You Go Girl plots are all well and good, but really, if a female character is in a story, it doesn't have to be about her being female. I mean, it wasn't made a big deal really that Leia could pick up a ( ... )

You go girl is fine as long as it is for women who want more traditional roles, too.

There's women who whine about Michelle Obama focusing on her family, growing the first organic garden at the White House. It's like they expect her to split the atom, lead a war, I don't know. It's not like she already has a lot to do like playing a serious role as representing the US with foreign dignitaries or in visiting other countries and being the best she can be. This is all from white feminists who don't take into account what concerns Black women the most, such as their communities and seeing that their children get the best chances they can.

I can't stand the grand standing of some women. No, you do not speak for me. No, you do not tell me what issues I should focus on the most. I also get to choose whether or not I am affected by things like SlaveLeia, the use of the word bitch, how I view sex workers. (Leave sex workers alone. Just because you think they serve the patriarchy doesn't mean you get to disrespect them.)

That and women don't ( ... )

Yeah. Sadly enough, I don't think it's what they have in mind, and that makes me sad ( ... )
